I
am a Mainiac! True! I am a native of Maine and therefore considered a
Mainiac. While in high school I moved to Roslyn, PA. After graduating, I
went to college in Michigan, and eventually moved to California where I
attained a BS in Marketing. But I was drawn back East to the change of
seasons, culture, and with a new appreciation of the beautiful homes in
this area. It is this appreciation
for the homes and the area that has helped me to choose a career is real
estate. I currently reside in Glenside and I love the sense of community
there. I am the mother of three and wife to Scott Dirksen who is a
mortgage consultant with a real estate license in escrow. Two of our
children attend Glenside Weldon Elementary and one attends Abington Junior
High. I am involved with their schools, as a member of the PTA and PTO, as
a room mother as well as volunteering for many other school activities
that come up. My family maintains an
active membership at New Life Presbyterian Church. I lead a women’s
Bible study, help out with Pioneer Girls, and co-lead a mini-church with
my husband. I also have a passion for the pro-life cause, and I volunteer
for Alpha Pregnancy Services, a non-profit agency that offers support in
crisis pregnancy situations. I am the ultimate soccer
mom with all three kids on Hunter soccer teams. (I am also a baseball,
basketball, and la-crosse mom!) For my own exercise (and enjoyment?) I
run, occasionally competing in races, if the cause is really good. I feel I am able to
combine my first hand knowledge of what the community has to offer along
with my understanding of the importance of listening to the needs of the
individual, to match buyer with seller. My job as a realtor gets
incorporated into all other areas of my life, so it is a good thing I
enjoy the business. I am basically always available and yet I am able to
be flexible for my family, and the many other areas that make up my life. |
